WORCESTER Wolves fans’ favourite Carlos Fernandez has agreed a contract to remain with the British Basketball League outfit for next season.
Fernandez is the second member of the successful 2011/12 squad to agree a new deal after Sherrad Prezzie-Blue also committed his future to the club last week.
The hard-working Spanish forward enjoyed his first year with the University of Worcester-based side and is keen to repeat the experience.
He said: “Worcester was always my first option for next season. The opportunity to study at the university while playing high-level professional basketball is something unique.”
The 24-year-old averaged seven points, four rebounds and three assists-a-game last term and impressed the club’s supporters with his work-rate.
He added: “The love I got from the fans all season long is something I will not forget.”
Fernandez is also relishing what lies ahead for him and his team-mates, adding: “I really look forward to next season and moving into the new arena.”
