WORCESTER City will not rush into appointing a new captain following Kevin O’Connor’s decision to leave the club.
The midfielder, who took over the armband from Ryan Clarke last October, has signed for Irish side Bray.
It leaves the St George’s Lane club looking for a new skipper but that decision will not be taken until the pre-season friendlies are under way in July and August.
Centre-half Stuart Whitehead would be in the frame, having performed the role at Telford United.
Manager Carl Heeley said: “We will look at that over pre-season and see who best fits the role.”
