HEREFORD United and Shrewsbury Town have both been added to Worcester City’s pre-season fixture programme.

The Bulls, newly-relegated to the Blue Square Bet Premier, will visit St George’s Lane on Saturday, July 21 (3pm), as part of the deal that brought Tyler Weir to the club on loan in the second-half of the season.

Shrewsbury, who won promotion to League One under Graham Turner in 2011-12, are expected on Saturday, August 4 (3pm), although that could yet be brought forward to Friday 3.

It takes the number of warm-up games for manager Carl Heeley’s side to five as City host West Brom on Tuesday, July 17 (7.45pm), and visit Leamington on Saturday, August 11 (3pm) before making the journey to Evo-Stik Southern League Premier Division outfit Bashley from Hampshire on Saturday, July 28.

Heeley said: “Shrewsbury and Hereford will both be sending their strongest sides so they are going to be good tests for us but we want to be tested and play against good opposition.

“We feel that’s the best way to prepare for us.”
