WORCESTERSHIRE officials are cautiously optimistic overseas signing Sohail Tanvir will finally join up with his New Road team-mates this week.
Unforeseen international call-ups and visa red tape have delayed the Pakistani all-rounder’s County arrival and meant he has already missed four Friends Life t20 matches.
However, Worcestershire chief executive David Leatherdale is expecting Tanvir to link up with his new side this week in time to feature against Glamorgan in Friday night’s FLt20 clash at New Road.
Leatherdale said: “He completed his visa application in Islamabad on Thursday, it was processed on Friday and I was told the paperwork takes between two and four days to finalise.
“Hopefully, he will now arrive in time for the game with Glamorgan at New Road on Friday.”
