EVESHAM United manager Matt Clarke has swooped to sign former Worcester City striker Luke Corbett.

The 27-year-old started his career at Cheltenham Town and went on to play for Gloucester City and Leamington among other clubs.

Corbett scored five goals in 15 appearances for his hometown club Worcester but fell out of favour this year.

Clarke has also brought Redditch United defender Tesfa Robinson to the Spiers and Hartwell Jubilee Stadium and appointed veteran midfielder Neil MacKenzie as player-coach.

Thirty-six-year-old MacKenzie played for Evesham last season and has a wealth of experience at the likes of Stoke City, Kidderminster Harriers, Blackpool and Notts County.

He replaces Kieran Jackson, who has taken up an assistant manager’s role at Tipton Town.

Evesham were relegated to Evo-Stik Southern League Division One South and West last season.
