KIDDERMINSTER Harriers kicked off their pre-season friendly programme with a victory and defeat.
Steve Burr’s side were invited to play a West Brom side on Saturday morning, which they won 3-2 thanks to goals for Ryan Rowe (2) and James Vincent at Albion’s training ground.
Harriers then went to Sutton Coldfield in the afternoon to take on Evo-Stik Northern League Division One South club Romulus with a mixed team of trialists and first team squad players.
Jack Byrne headed Harriers ahead but two second-half goals handed the home side victory.
Meanwhile, Evesham United’s first pre-season friendly ended in a 3-0 home defeat against Blue Square Bet Premier club Newport County.
