UPDATE: Tomorrow evening's meeting at Worcester is subject to a third precautionary inspection at 7.30am.

Having already held an inspection this morning, a scheduled 3pm check was brought forward with all the standing water now having dispersed.

WORCESTER'S jumps meeting on Wednesday evening is under threat from standing water on the track.

With river levels high and further rain forecast, officials have called an inspection at 7.45am tomorrow (Tuesday).

“River levels at Worcester have risen very rapidly over the weekend and whilst we didn’t have a great deal of rain and the river hasn’t burst its banks we currently have standing water on the track in places, primarily on the Cathedral bend,” said clerk of the course Fergus Cameron.

“The majority of the track is absolutely fine. However, in view of the fact that at present river levels remain very high and we do expect another 15 millimetres of rain between now and Wednesday, the decision has been made to put an inspection in place tomorrow morning to see where we stand.

“We are currently unraceable with the amount of water we have on the track in a few areas.”
