Evesham United 0 Shrewsbury Town 0

EVESHAM United continued their encouraging pre-season with a well-deserved draw against League One newcomers Shrewsbury Town.

Playing their third warm-up game in six days, Matt Clarke’s new-look side, missing a host of new signings, gave as good as they got.

The best chance of an even first-half fell to Shrewsbury’s Marvin Morgan, who directed Joe Jacobson’s inch-perfect cross just wide.

Morgan had earlier got in a couple of good positions but failed to find the target, while Evesham’s Henry Eze headed over at the back post from Pedram Ardalany’s corner.

Evesham keeper Nick Thomas was the busier after the interval, gathering at the second attempt from Shrews’ substitute Jon Taylor.

But he could only stand and watch as Jacobson struck the bar before Evesham’s Simeon Tulloch got round the Shrewsbury back four only to drag his shot wide.

At the other end, Thomas prevented Tom Bradshaw grabbing a late winner for the visitors by bravely smothering at the feet of the substitute.

Evesham: Thomas, Wood, Mazuto, Rhodes, Eze, Ardalany, MacKenzie, Hicks, Palmer, Wellings, Osborne. Subs: Agbor, Connor, Corbett, P Jones, J Jones, Downing, Tulloch.

Attendance: 265.
