Sailor Alison Young misses out on Olympic medal

WORCESTERSHIRE sailor Alison Young just missed out on a London Olympic medal after finishing fourth in the Laser Radial medal race.

The 25-year-old from Bewdley was unable to cap an impressive debut Olympics but finished fourth in the race and fifth overall.

China's Xu Lijia won the gold medal with silver going to Marit Bouwmeester from Holland and bronze picked up by Evi Van Acker from Belgium.
