Harriers secure signing of Romulus forward Nathan Blissett

UPDATE: Kidderminster Harriers have completed the signing of Romulus forward Nathan Blissett on a deal until the end of the season in time for tomorrow's match with Mansfield Town.

MANAGER Steve Burr admits Kidderminster Harriers have hit a brick wall in their bid to find extra firepower.

With Anthony Malbon and Ryan Rowe the only fit and available strikers at the Aggborough side’s disposal, efforts are being made to bolster the squad.

Steve Guinan is still struggling with an ankle injury, which has seen him miss the first two games of the campaign, while there is still no sign of a return for Jamille Matt.

The 21-year-old has not played since March as he awaits completion of his UK Border Agency application.

However, a new signing is unlikely to happen before tomorrow’s Blue Square Bet Premier home clash against Mansfield Town (3pm) when both sides will be looking for their first point of the campaign.

Burr said: “We have been looking since before the season started and hit a bit of a brick wall.

“The squad is not big enough at the moment but we have had a few setbacks with negotiations with one or two players. We are still working on it.”

However, there was a ray of hope tonight after reports linked Harriers with Romulus forward Nathan Blissett.

The 22-year-old played against Kidderminster in a pre-season friendly in July and scored 13 goals for the Evo-Stik Northern League Division One South side last term.
