DESPITE letting a two-goal lead slip through their grasp, Worcester City manager Carl Heeley felt the 2-2 draw at Bradford Park Avenue was the correct result.

He said: “I think our second goal came against the run of play and in fairness to Bradford I thought they dominated the second-half and played some good stuff.

“You’re always disappointed not to see the game out when you've got a two-goal lead but I felt on the balance of the second-half Bradford certainly deserved something.

“When you’re 2-0 up there’s a little bit of disappointment but I think you have to look at the bigger picture and the result was the right one over the 90 minutes.”

The City boss added: “I thought we did well in the first-half and we looked a threat on the counter-attack. Maybe we could be a little bit critical about the final ball in the last third because we had some good situations.

“Overall, it was a decent team performance and, considering we had to hang on a little bit at the end, we’re happy with a point.”

Heeley also had no qualms with the decision to send off sub Matt Breeze for a sliding tackle on Martin Drury.

He said: “If you’re going to leave the ground in the modern game you’re asking for trouble.

“What’s gone on after he received the red card I don’t know.”
