WORCESTER City are hoping Rob Elvins will be fit to face Colwyn Bay at St George’s Lane on Saturday after sustaining a hip injury against Oxford City.
The defensive midfielder fell awkwardly during the second-half of the 2-2 Blue Square Bet North draw on Monday and had to be replaced by Jay Denny.
Having named an unchanged team for the first four games of the campaign, manager Carl Heeley will be keen for the versatile Elvins to make a quick recovery.
“He landed funny on his hip so it’s a little bit sore, we’ll just have to see how it settles down,” the Worcester manager said.
“Hopefully it’s just a knock and it will calm down.
“Because he can play centre-half, when balls go into the box he’s another big lad who can get his head on it and I thought he headed most things in our box until he went off.
“I think we missed him a bit with the two goals we conceded.”
