WORCESTER Anchors made a flying start to the new Worcester and District League campaign with a 10-1 demolition of newcomers Katy O’Ryans in the Saturday League Division Two.

Tom Tandurella and Jonathan Jones were their heroes, both netting four times. Elsewhere, there was a brace each for Adam Jones, of Pig & Drum, who defeated Foregate 4-1 and Mark Wilks in Sylla’s 4-2 victory over Malvern Hills.

In Division One, Josh Homans hit a hat-trick for Worcester Raiders who won 5-3 at The Red Lion with Jason Townsend scoring twice for the hosts.

In the Sunday league, last season’s Premier Division runners-up Upton Snodsbury won 6-3 at newly-promoted Wychbold Royal British Legion. Danny James cracked a hat-trick for Upton with Kieron Sheehan bagging two for the Legion. Doubles also came from Seb Parker of Perrywood, who drew 4-4 with CMB Sports, and John Greenwood as Callow End also shared eight goals with Coppertops Athletic. Dean Spiers converted a hat-trick of penalties for Coppertops.

Goals from Jamie Insall, Lee Tomkins, Brad Birch and Joe Haines gave WCT Raiders a 4-0 victory at Martley Spurs.

Paul Addis netted twice as Droitwich Spa Eagles hammered Northwick Vale 7-0 in Division One. Oak Apple won 4-3 at Worcester Saints in Division Two, Luke Whittington scoring twice for the Oak, while James Staunton did likewise for the Saints. Hornets drew 2-2 with Malvern Rangers, Tim Martin and Andy Woodward on target for Hornets with Dan Stone and Josh Lloyd replying for Rangers.

In Division Three, Martin Newman fired a treble as VBL Sports beat Claines 3-0 and a double from Scott Fletcher helped Worcester Raiders to a 4-2 victory against Malvern Victoria.

Alex Dukes notched a hat-trick for Pillar of Salt Korono who thumped Droitwich Spa Eagles Reserves 6-1 in Division Four. There were two goals each for Wilks in Cavalier Sports’ 2-0 success over Droitwich RBL, a brace from Shane Wade as Brewers Athletic beat CSSC 4-0 and Victor Barnardo of Hylton Road Rovers in their 2-2 draw at Malvern Rangers VFC.

Division Five saw Sam Harper net four times in Hornets Reserves’ 6-2 win at Garibaldi, while Phil Heathcock grabbed a hat-trick as Worcester Rileys crushed Westside 6-1.

Dan Holden scored twice in Pig & Drum’s 3-1 victory at Leigh & Bransford Badgers and Clifton Rovers celebrated their return to the league after a 13-year absence with a 3-0 victory against GDL Athletic Reserves. Dave Nunn, Tom Edwards and Nat Walsh were their goalscorers.
