A YOUNG Worcester Cavaliers side opened up the new Aviva A League season with a heavy 82-0 defeat to Gloucester United at Sixways .
Gloucester named a power-packed side crammed full of senior experience with the likes of Andy Hazel, Pete Buxton, Tim Molenaar all selected and summer recruits Drew Locke, Rob Cook and Shane Monahan all eager to impress.
Worcester again had a youthful look to the line-up with a number of guest players, as they were led by prop George Porter, and they were forced to battle hard throughout against an incisive visiting outfit.
Gloucester used all their experience and cutting edge in the opening 40 minutes as they ran in six tries with wingers Ian Clark and Monahan grabbing a brace each.
Irish speedster Monahan, a summer recruit from Rotherham for Gloucester, completed his hat-trick after the interval and then grabbed a fourth score of the evening while Clarke also grabbed three.
