SPORTSMEN and women from across Worcestershire and Herefordshire are vying to secure votes for a prestigious honour.

Nominations are currently being taken for the 2012 Sports Partnership Herefordshire and Worcestershire awards, to be held at Worcester Warriors’ Sixways Stadium on Wednesday, November 14.

Categories include male and female senior and junior sports person of the year, sports personality of the year and coach and club of the year.

There is also chance to recognise the efforts of volunteers, unsung heroes and newcomers.

Stephen Brewster, director of the Sports Partnership, said: “The 2012 sports awards is our chance to honour our local sports men and women, coaches, volunteers, clubs and officials.

“We are calling on people in Herefordshire and Worcestershire to nominate those budding sportsmen and women who have made an impact on sport, young people and local communities.”
