EVESHAM United return to league action for the first time in nearly three weeks when they visit Paulton Rovers tomorrow (3pm).

A 3-2 victory at Clevedon Town on September 4 placed the Robins sixth in Evo-Stik Southern League Division One South and West with 10 points from five games.

However, since that trip to Somerset, Evesham have been knocked out of the FA Cup and FA Trophy with defeats at Leek Town (2-1) and Stamford (1-0) respectively.

Falling at the first hurdle in both competitions has left them to focus their attentions on securing promotion back to the Premier Division at the first attempt.

Manager Matt Clarke said: “We were unlucky with the difficult away ties and should have got results out of both. The league is our priority. We have had a good start and just want to get back to that.

“It will be a difficult game because Paulton are a good side but we are confident of beating any team if we are on our game.”

Evesham could hand a debut to striker Danny Holgate following his move from Continental Star.

Captain Tesfa Robinson plays his last game until October 20 as he links up with the St Kitts and Nevis squad.
