Recent Hereford United signing calls for improvement

DEFENDER Byron Anthony says he will do everything in his power to ensure Hereford United buck up their ideas.

The Bulls started the Blue Square Bet Premier in impressive style but are reeling following back-to-back thrashings against newly-promoted sides on the road.

A 5-2 defeat at Hyde was followed by last Saturday’s 4-0 drubbing at Dartford with Hereford failing to register a shot on target in the latter.

Former Bristol Rovers centre-half Anthony signed for the Edgar Street side following the Hyde clash in a bid to strengthen the defence.

The 28-year-old, who spent time on loan with the Bulls last season, knows they need to improve, starting at home to Cambridge United today (3pm). He said: “It was a disappointing performance all-round (at Dartford) and everyone needs to look at themselves.

“There has been quite a change since last season with new players, management and staff but there are still a few of the old faces here and we’ll do our best to get the club back where they belong.”

Meanwhile, Hereford have slashed admission prices to £10 for adults and £7 for concessions for Tuesday’s home match against Forest Green Rovers.

However, fans must attend the Cambridge clash in order to qualify for the discount.
