City too strong for Gornal

WORCESTER City completed a 4-0 victory over Gornal Athletic to reach the FA Cup third qualifying round.

Having been second best for the majority of the first-half at the Garden Walk Stadium, Michael Taylor put City ahead 60 seconds before the break.

The visitors then took control and second-half goals from Mike Symons, Jacob Rowe and substitute Charlie Reece saw them through.

Keeper Glyn Thompson said: "We had to work hard and dig in a little bit in the first-half but once we got the first goal it was a comfortable performance in the second-half so everyone's happy.

"I think on another day it could have been a different scoreline but we had chances as well in the first-half. Overall, over the 90 minutes we deserved to come out as winners.

"They had a couple of chances, one that just went wide and another over so it's about taking your chances and we took ours.

"I think the goal just before half-time took the stuffing out of them a little bit and we got hold of the ball a lot better at the start of the second-half.

"They didn't really have a lot of chance to build up momentum, we just kept the ball, created chances and got the goals in the end."
