Player ratings: Saints v Warriors
4:30pm Monday 24th September 2012 in Sport
PLAYER ratings from Worcester Warriors' 37-31 defeat to Northampton Saints in the Aviva Premiership at Franklin's Gardens.
6 Pennell: Doesn’t make any mistakes, but also doesn’t bring the attacking edge of Errie Claassens.
6 Walker: Handed off several would-be tacklers during his 50-metre gallop in the build-up to Drauniniu’s try.
6 Grove: The tough-tackling centre won’t be happy with the ease with which Saints carved their way through Warriors’ midfield.
7 Carlisle: There will be calls for Matavesi to start at 12 on Friday but Carlisle was one of Warriors’ better performers in the first-half.
6 Lemi: Struggled to see much of the ball but tracked back well to snuff out Saints’ chances. Nearly got on the end of Goode’s cross-kick.
6 Goode: Showed good composure to ignore cat-calls from the crowd to land last-gasp conversion at the second attempt to secure an extra bonus point.
4 Perry: The scrum-half looks off the pace and was hauled off at half-time. It’s time for Jonny Arr to be given a chance to start games.
5 Mullan: Tried his best to hold his end up in the set-pieces but Warriors were beasted by Saints at scrum-time.
4 Lutui: The line-out was a real shambles — the calling and throwing were comical at times with no-one seeming to know what was going on.
4 Andress: Taken off at half-time after struggling in the set-pieces. Needs to be taken out of the firing line.
5 Percival: Plenty of grunt but unable to stem the Saints tide as the Warriors scrum was on the back-foot all game.
6 Schofield: Carried powerfully and posed plenty of questions of the Saints defence but was again taken off before the hour-mark.
5 Chris Jones: The lock-cum-flanker was calling the line-out, therefore equally to blame for the fiasco that emerged.
6 Betty: Never less than fully committed but needs to move back to six to accommodate a return for Kvesic.
6Taulava: Played the full 80 minutes and was a handful for the Saints defence without ever causing any major problems for the hosts.
Replacements: Hayes (Lutui 61) 8, Ceri Jones (Mullan 61) 6, Currie (Andress 41) 8, Gillies (Schofield 57) 8, Kvesic (Chris Jones 57) 8, Arr (Perry 41) 8, Matavesi (Grove 57) 8, Drauniniu (Lemi 61) 8.
