TOP GUN: Worcester’s Bradley Strain with the awards he has won representing Great Britain Under 21s this year.
TEENAGE Worcester clay pigeon marksman Bradley Strain has enjoyed a successful year by claiming medals for Great Britain.
The 19-year-old, from St John’s, was part of a three-man GB Under 21s team that won silver at the European Universal Trench Championships in June and World Championship bronze earlier this month.
Strain scored 180 out of 200 on his way to the European silver in Italy and 188 at the worlds in Portugal, only missing out on gold by two shots.
While in Portugal, Strain, who has won honours with England in the past, also claimed an individual silver medal in the Beretta Open.
He is now focusing on gaining selection for next year’s world championship, which will be held in Slovakia.
His father Tony said: “He’s doing really well. To score 188 out of 200 is big boys scores so he’s right up there. I’m very proud of him.”
