Burr looks to hat-trick hero Rowe to fire side
MANAGER Steve Burr hopes Ryan Rowe can provide the goals to fire Kidderminster Harriers up the Blue Square Bet Premier table.
Harriers won for the first time this season when they came from behind to defeat 10-man Cambridge United 3-1 at the Abbey Stadium last Tuesday.
It was a victory inspired by Rowe who bagged a second-half hat-trick after joining the action as a substitute.
They were his first goals for the club this season and Burr believes the former Stourbridge striker is capable of many more.
The Kidderminster boss, who paid the Glassboys a five-figure fee for 24-year-old Rowe in January, said: “That was probably the best performance I have ever seen by a substitute.
“Ryan came off the bench and scored three excellent goals. I have never seen anything like that before and he deserves it for his hard work.
“He needed that, it hadn’t been happening for him. “I have wanted someone who is at the top of the Conference’s scoring charts, like Kim Casey used to be for Harriers.
“I am not comparing Ryan to Kim because there’s a lot of hard work to do but hopefully this hat-trick will give him the boost he needs.”
Fellow Harriers striker Steve Guinan will combine his playing duties with a coaching role at the club.
