Team spirit is vital to United success says Luke
SKIPPER Luke Graham believes the spirit in the Hereford United squad will be a major factor in their bid to be successful.
Since manager Martin Foyle took over in the wake of the club’s relegation from the Football League, there has been a large turnover in players at Edgar Street.
Progress has been mixed so far this season but Hereford remain 10th in the Blue Square Bet Premier heading into today’s home match against Stockport County (3pm).
Central defender Graham said: “There’s a very good team spirit, we have got a good camaraderie.
“That’s massive at any club if you are going to build a successful team but I think it’s especially important for a team in transition.
“If we are going to start building we have got to get a core of players that will be here for a few years and we have got some youngsters that have got a great future.”
He added: “We have been looking to win every game, we don’t fear anyone and in a lot of games we have competed well and I think we will definitely be in the top half.
“That will depend on if we can tighten up at the back because we have conceded too many goals as a team. If we can start keeping clean sheets, I think we will have a good season.”
l Hereford’s home league match against Newport County on December 29 will now kick-off at 12.30pm on police advice.
