BROMSGROVE rider Jess Varnish linked up with Becky James to bag gold in the women's team sprint on the opening day of the Track Cycling World Cup in Colombia.
The British pair triumphed in 33.734 seconds, over a second-and-a-half clear of Japan's Kayono Maeda and Hiroko Ishii.
Varnish bounced back after suffering disappointment at the London Olympics when she was disqualified with Victoria Pendleton in their event.
