Heeley: We are focused on cup despite loss Heeley: We are focused on cup despite loss

CARL Heeley insists Worcester City will not let their first home defeat of the season affect their FA Cup preparations.

City face one of the biggest games in their recent history when they travel to Bromley for a fourth qualifying round clash on Saturday (3pm).

They go into the Kent contest on the back of a 2-1 loss to Stalybridge Celtic at St George’s Lane last weekend.

But, despite the defeat, City played some of their best football of the campaign and Heeley expects them to focus on the positives.

The manager said: “We’re a good side and anybody who plays us knows we’re good and we’ll bounce back, don’t worry about that.

“It’s a big game this weekend but we’re looking forward to it.”

However, he admits the players also have to cut out the lapses in concentration that saw them come unstuck in front of the largest Lane crowd of the season of 1,038.

The City boss added: “They will learn, they’re young, but they’ve got to put it into play quickly because if you have too many of those situations throughout the season it becomes difficult.”

Seats on the supporters’ club bus for the Bromley match are £17 and it leaves the Lane at 9am.
