RISING star Lucy Walton, representing Worcestershire and Herefordshire, finished an impressive seventh in the Champion of County Champions tournament in Northamptonshire.
The 36-hole competition was played in windy conditions on a hilly course, testing not only the girls’ golfing abilities, but also their fitness.
Twelve-year-old Lucy, who is a member of The Worcestershire Golf Club, was the youngest golfer taking part.
The Malvern St James pupil said: “I was happy with my morning round and a bit disappointed that I dropped a few shots in the afternoon.
“However, I enjoyed playing in the competition and the experience will help me in my development.”
