THE annual captain’s team against the junior section match at Worcester Golf and Country Club was keenly contested and it was Phil MacDonell’s select 11 who came out on top, seeing off the young guns 7-4.
The junior section’s presentation night took place after the match and the following were recipients of the trophies: Dan Adams (Alan Hempson Trophy and most-improved junior); Chris Colenso (Richard Young Trophy); Aaron Bryan (Terry Band Shield); Josh Bryan (George Medal); Jordan Hick (junior club champion); Josh Beale (clubman-of-the-year).
Meanwhile, the juniors’ order of merit is heading for a close finish with no less than six players contending the trophy, with just one event remaining.
Jordan Wilson leads the pack on 30 points with Colenso, Hick and Beale only two points behind. Will Burgess and Adams are also in close attendance.
