ALMOST 300 young Hereford United fans have joined the re-launched junior supporters’ club.
The Junior Bulls were revived in March and the organiser, Luke Powell, is planning an exchange with Millwall Football Club on October 28.
Powell hopes the Junior Bulls will be able to take on their Millwall counterparts in a half-time penalty shoot-out at the New Den.
In return, it is hoped that the Millwall youngsters will be treated to the same hospitality in the return fixture at Hereford on January 27.
The Junior Bulls members also have the opportunity to become a Hereford United ball boy this season at Edgar Street.
“A number of our members have been given, or will be given, the chance to ball boy for Hereford United,” said Powell. “Those who have had the chance already have been delighted with the experience and it has encouraged more youngsters to get involved with the club. They have been provided with new kit this season which carries the Junior Bulls logo and my new aim is to get in clothing items that also have the Junior Bull logo on to sell to our members.”
Most of the Junior Bulls have now received their goodie bags which contain, among other things, a scarf and a badge.
The supporters’ group have just issued their first newsletter and there are plans for the Junior Bulls to meet the Hereford United players.
Powell added: “Everything is progressing very well so far and this is going to be an exciting season.
“Hopefully, the win against Crewe will help to increase the interest in the club among more youngsters in Herefordshire.”
Membership forms for the Junior Bulls are available from Luke Powell by telephoning 01981 251762 or 07876 077152.
