POWERHOUSE hitman Nathan Blissett aims to muscle his way up the goal-scoring charts – and guide Harriers into the play-off spots.

The 24 year old is enjoying his best season in a Harriers shirt after several years on the periphery.

But he would be the first to admit he needs to be more clinical in front of goal.

Blissett has scored three goals in 16 appearances, which included an impressive point rescuing brace against Barnet.

The big hitman made an impressive start to the season with his size and strength troubling opposition defences.

But after starting the first seven games, where Harriers went unbeaten, he went off the boil and found himself on the substitute’s bench.

But he returned to the side for last Saturday’s 2-1 win over Torquay and played alongside Craig Reid.

He said: "I feel I was playing my best football at the start of the season but I had a small bit of a slump in October.

"I was carrying a small injury but I’ve managed to get over it and feel I am getting back to my best.

"I am not the finished article but I want to keep improving and score more goals, hopefully I can get into double figures.

"The gaffer always wants his players to improve and his encouragement has helped me to push on and get better."

Harriers, whose next game is at home to Aldershot on Wednesday, are just three points off the play-off spots before this afternoon’s Vanarama Conference clashes, despite enduring an inconsistent run of games and exiting the FA Cup at the hands of Eastleigh.

"We've been inconsistent this season but we are only three points off the play-off spots with a lot of games to go,” said Blissett.

"We’ve generally played well against the top sides but have not done so well against the other teams.”
