GARY Whild has warned Kidderminster Harriers could end up part-time unless the club’s receives extra investment.

The Reds boss gave a frank and honest account of some of the difficulties the management and playing staff have experienced this season.

Whild revealed the full impact of the Aggborough outft’s struggles to pay the monthly wage bill.

The manager has been forced to send out the likes of Josh O’Keefe, Jasbir Singh and Reece Styche out for spells, with highly paid hitman Michael Gash now confirmed to have joined Nuneaton on loan.

“I don’t know all the details of the finances but I think that Harriers going part-time is a real possibility,” admitted the manager, who has also seen the playing budget he was given in the summer cut dramatically.

“We can’t keep loaning players out and not bringing some players in.

“We were able to get in Mat Robinson who has done okay and given the lads a lift.

“The way things are looking the likes of Jake Green and Reece Hales will make up the team next year.”

It was a night of revelations, with the 130 strong contingent of supporters quizzing Whild, assistant Mark Creighton and player/coach Josh Gowling on a wide range of subjects. Members of the board were also invited to sit on the panel but declined.

It was also revealed that Harriers cash problems had seen them hit with a transfer embargo by the Vanarama Conference in the summer.

The financial backing of Kath and Ernie Lane, who are paying the shortfall in the wages each month, has seen the ban raised.

The manager said: “We’ve always been ambitious. We’ve either made the play-offs or finished very close to them but unfortunately times have changed.

“At the moment we’re having to cut our cloth accordingly to make sure we can pay the players still here.

“Michael Gash has gone to Nuneaton on loan and that’s four or five players we have out on loan.

“We want to make the play-offs but I have to be frank and honest and say that we must get to 50 points as soon as possible to ensure we are safe.

“Until mid-October we were under a transfer embargo from the Conference because of the club’s financial restraints.

“We had discussed adding  Amar’I Bell and Johnny Hunt from Cambridge but we weren’t in a position to do that.

“We also wanted to bring in Kevin Nicholson but first had to de-register Reece Hales and Jake Green with the Conference before we were allowed to get him in.

“It was the long drawn out process but that is the sort of thing we’ve had to deal with.”
