GARY Whild hailed the quality of Harriers goals in last night’s 3-1 win over Nuneaton at Aggborough.

Strikes by Jack Byrne, Kyle Storer and Craig Reid saw the Reds bounce back from their 2-1 loss to Altrincham to leave them just two points off the Vanarama Conference play-offs.

"I thought we played some good football on a difficult pitch and scored three quality goals,” said the manager.

"O third goal was as good a move as you will see and quite fittingly Jack Byrne finished it off because over the last month he's been outstanding.

"Against Altrincham we were 60 per cent and the lads wanted to put that right.

"When you look at our numbers and see we're two points off the play-off spots, that's a fantastic effort."

Reid’s sixth minute strike was only his third of the season and it put the gloss on an industrious display.

Callum Gittings and Storer, thrown back into fray after recovering from hernia surgery, also made good impacts against a very open Nuneaton side.

Whild added: “I thought Callum did well, he's not had a lot of luck because of injuries but he looked a bit closer to what he's capable of.

"Kyle Storer was also back in the side and he's a big character who did well.

"We need those lads to be performing because they are experienced at this level.

"We can't be at 65 per cent, we need to be at 90 per cent. We need our best and most experienced players to be performing and there's a lot of onus on them to do that.

"I was pleased for Craig. The one thing you can say about him is that he has never shirked anything.

"He's the first to say he is disappointed not to have scored more goals but over the last month his work rate and attitude has been first class.

"I think we dominated the game and with more guile and better decision making and a bit of luck we could have ended up with five goals.

"When you give a soft goal away you are on the back foot a bit but I thought we recovered well."
