GARY Whild felt a draw was the right result after Harriers were held by play-off rivals Woking to a 1-1 draw at Aggborough yesterday.

The Reds had been fired ahead by Lee Hughes, who bagged his first goal at the club's Hoo Road home since March 29, 1997.

But Yemi Odubade made it 1-1 as Woking hit back in a classic game of two halves.

The manager said: "Overall a draw was about right. Danny Lewis had to make a very good save in the second half and Woking's keeper also denied Danny Wright.

"If we had got the second goal we deserved in the first half it could have been a little more comfortable.

"There was always a chance, as well as we defended, that Woking were going to be able to score a goal.

"I saw two good teams looking to win and it could have gone either way."

Hughes was impressive alongside Wright and Dominic Knowles in a new-look three-pronged strike force.

Harriers created a host of chances, with Aaron Wildig going close on a number of occasions.

But veteran goal-getter Hughes tired as the second half wore on.

Keeper Lewis made a fine save to deny Joey Jones as Woking piled on the pressure.

Woking bounced back well and Odubade bagged a scrappy leveller to ensure it was honours even.

But Harriers nearly won it when Wright was denied by keeper Cole late on.

About his strikers, the manager added: "They haven't had many chances to play together but there were lots of good movement and I thought they caused Woking plenty of problems.

"It was a great finish from Lee, I thought he was superb and not just the goal, his work rate was also excellent. You can see why he has had a good career."
