JORDAN Jones looks set to be the latest non-league player to make the step up to the professional ranks by signing for Kidderminster Harriers.

The versatile right-sided player has agreed to join from Redditch United after a fine 2014-15 season for the Southern League Premier outfit.

He comes primarily as cover for captain and player of the season Jared Hodgkiss.

Jones is the second new face from United to switch to Aggborough over the last seven days, with midfielder Calvin Dinsley also agreeing a deal.

Dinsley started last season at Stourport Swifts in the Midlands Premier, which is step five, but was snapped up by Reds boss Liam McDonald and became an integral part of United’s midfield.

“Calvin is a player we’ve known about for quite some time and he’s someone who has spent time working at the club back when he was studying and assisting our medical staff,” said Harriers boss Gary Whild.

Harriers are also hoping former Tipton striker Gurjit Singh, who had a brief spell at Kiddy last season, will sign a deal.

Ahmed Obeng, Jamie Spencer and Tyrone Williams are set to return next term, for the 2015-16 campaign but striker Akwasi Asante has joined Solihull Moors. Harriers are also in talks with striker Danny Wright about a possible return.

Meanwhile, the Worcestershire Senior Cup will be played as a competitive pre-season event for 2015-16.

Harriers, who defeated Halesowen to win the competition in April, will host play either Stourbridge or Redditch at home in the Worcestershire Senior Cup during pre-season.
