FORMER Harriers midfielders James Vincent and Marvin Johnson were the heroes during a dramatic weekend in the Scottish Premier League.

Vincent bagged an 86th winner as Inverness Caledonian Thistle defeated Falkirk 2-1 at Hampden Park to win the Scottish Cup for the first time in the highland side’s history.

Meanwhile, Johnson bagged his first goal for Motherwell as they defeated Rangers 3-0 in the second leg of their play-off with Rangers.

Vincent, who came on as a substitute, tapped home the decisive goal after Marley Watkins’ shot had been parried into his path.

He said to the BBC: “I dreamt about this all week. I knew I wasn’t playing, so I knew I had to come on and make an impact. To get the winning goal…I am over the moon.

“It’s fantastic, it’s the pinnacle and the sort of game you want to be playing in.”

Both players earned their moves to the top flight of Scottish football after a series of impressive displays for Kidderminster Harriers.

The duo were members of the squad which finished runners-up in the Football Conference during the 2012-13 season.

Johnson switched to Motherwell in January for £30,000 and has made 13 appearances He played in Well’s 3-1 win over Division One outfit Rangers at Ibrox as the North Lanarkshire side looked to maintain their own Premier League spot for another season.

In the second leg, Johnson beat three players and then scored with a deflected effort, giving Well a 4-1 aggregate lead and putting the game beyond Rangers.

Lionel Ainsworth and John Sutton also scored as Motherwell finished 6-1 rout of the Scottish giants.

In jubilant style, the winger posted “Gettttt innnnnnnnnn!” on Twitter.
