GARY Whild has been delighted with the spirit of his new-look troops in the opening games of the Vanarama National League.

Harriers may have only picked up a point from their first two games but they have demonstrated impressive togetherness with comebacks against Grimsby and Dover.

While Kidderminster suffered a 3-2 loss in Kent on Tuesday, there was plenty of encouragement for the manager.

It's in stark contrast to last season, where a talented squad struggled to fight their form.

He said: "The spirit has been pleasing and it's a big difference compared to last year.

"There is a good spirit among the lads and you could see in our first two games how much they want to do well for the club."

With a tough set of fixtures coming up, Harriers will be aiming to bag their first win of the season at newly-promoted Guiseley AFC, who bounced back from a opening day loss with a 1-0 win over Altrincham.

The Lees outfit won the Vanarama South play-offs last season and Whild expects another tough game.

Harriers are hoping Kelvin Langmead (heel) and Reece Styche (hamstring) have recovered from knocks in time for tomorrow's clash (3pm ko).
