ROD Brown has revealed Harriers board of directors have identified the man they wish to bring in as head coach and hope to step up the recruitment process this week.

The chairman, speaking after yesterday’s 1-0 loss to Welling at Aggborough, has said their top target ‘ticks all the boxes’.

The club wish to bring in a coach who his highly qualifications when it comes to coaching younger players.

Harriers’ mystery man is currently under contract but Brown said Kiddy would begin the next stage of the process in the hope to get their man in between seven or eight days.

Cardiff under-21s coach Kevin Nicholson has been linked with the job but Kidderminster have been inundated with applications.

"At this moment in time if we get the person we are after, he ticks all the boxes. If that doesn't happen we have had a fantastic response even though we did not advertise the role,” said the chairman.

"Until such time we know if this particular person is coming or not coming, then if we have to go through the normal route we will establish a shortlist of applicants. We have four for five who fit the criteria.

"But we won't look at them until we know if our number one target is available, we are hopeful of knowing in the next seven or eight days.

“He is under contract at the moment and we have got to do everything right. First and foremost he’s got to want the job and then we’ve got to get around the complications of involved. That are quite a few things to discuss.”
