AGGBOROUGH breathed a huge sigh of as Kidderminster Harriers recorded their first win of the season.

Jordan Murphy headed home a late winner as the Reds kept their first clear sheet of a testing campaign and moved off the foot of the Vanarama National League.

After a first half edged by Woking, Kidderminster were much the better side after the break.

The hosts had made four changes from the side which suffered their humiliating FA Cup loss to Stourbridge.

Alex Palmer and Calvin Dinsley were dropped from the squad completely, while Matt Young was deselected and moved to the subs bench.

Striker Matthew Barnes-Homer was handed his second debut for the club after signing on-loan from Aldershot for a month's loan.

Dean Snedker, Jordan Murphy and Lathaniel Rowe-Turner all returned to the starting line-up.

Harriers were up against a Woking side who were also low on confidence after a poor run of results.

The first half was a powder-puff affair, with neither team capable of mustering much in front of goal.

The away side produced some good football but lacked cutting edge.

Kidderminster's best chance came in the 15th minute when Rowe-Turner surged down the left and Barnes-Homer blazed a volley over the bar at the far post.

Woking bossed the first period for long spells and Josh Goddard drove in an effort which was blocked by Snedker.

Harriers were posing a threat from Ben Whitfield's set-pieces and Kelvin Langmead headed over from a corner in the 23rd minute.

Dan Holman then steered a header wide for the away side as the first half ended goalless.

Hockaday made two changes at the start of the second half.

He took off Luke Maxwell and Rowe-Turner and brought on Dino Fazlic, making his debut, and left-back Young.

The changes seemed to have an immediate affect as Murphy tested keeper Nick Hamman with a low shot.

Moments later, the on-loan Walsall forward was teed up by Barnes-Homer but completely missed the ball.

Harriers looked a different side and created a fantastic chance in the 55th minute, when Murphy fed Whitfield but the midfielder's low shot was saved superbly by Nick Hamman, who had rushed out to block the effort with his legs.

Woking tried to hit back but we're finding Snedker in indomitable mood, the young goalkeeper dived to his right to keep out Holman's long range effort.

Harriers though continued to probe with menace and Cards right back Chris Arthur was shown a yellow card for a foul on substitute Jake Green.

Whitfield delivered a fine free-kick but Barnes-Homer headed wide at the far post.

At the other end, the dangerous Holman spun in the box but fired wide with just Snedker to beat.

Whitfield saw a well-struck drive from distance saved by the impressive Hamman.

Cunnington wasted a good chance in the 84th minute for the away team, completely missing Kieran Murtagh's right wing delivery.

But Harriers bagged the winner in the 87th minute, when Murphy latched onto Young's left wing cross and headed home from six yards out.
