DAVE Hockaday says he's only focused on the next game and has not thought about how many points Kidderminster Harriers need for survival.

The Reds go into tomorrow's trip to fifth-placed Braintree (3pm ko) in good heart after last weekend's 2-0 win over Aldershot.

Victory ensured they remained second from bottom in the Vanarama National League but closed the gap on 20th spot to six points.

But Saturday's clash in Essex kicks-off a testing set of fixtures, as they taken on the top five teams in the next six games.

Harriers will also be trying to win their first away game since January 20.

But while Kidderminster's head coach acknowledges the size of the task, he is determined to tackle it one game at a time.

He said: "I haven't thought about how many points will be needed for safety, my only concern is the next game.

"It's like climbing Mount Everest, if you look at the task in its entirety, it's huge, so you must break it down into what's next.

"Braintree are playing well and are in the play-off spots, so we know we'll be in for a tough game.

"We'll be going there looking to build on what we've done in recent weeks.

"I thought in the second half against Aldershot we worked very hard and looked like a team.

"There are still areas I want to improve but we managed the game well after taking the lead and that was pleasing.

"We're fitter than we were and we've worked them hard again this week.

"But Braintree will be tough and I will be delighted to get something from the game."

Striker Matthew Barnes-Homer will be available after missing the Aldershot because of the terms of his loan agreement.

Harriers have released midfielder Calvin Dinsley after his contract was cancelled by mutual consent, who looks set to sign for Gloucester City.

The club were also hoping to extend the stay of defender Kyle Howkins from West Bromwich Albion.

Braintree are in good form in the league, having lost just once in the last eight league games.

They did lost 3-1 to Football League outfit Oxford in an FA Cup First Round replay on Tuesday night.
