COLIN Gordon hailed Harriers' 'professional' win as they battled relegation rivals Boreham Wood and the elements yesterday.

Goals in each half for Ben Whitfield and Elton Ngwatala stopped the rot as Harriers won their first match in nine games and ended their eight match losing streak.

It was also Kidderminster's first away win since January 20, 2015.

The win also cut their gap at the bottom of the Vanarama National League to 13 points.

But the caretaker boss and chief executive was impressed by his young side's ability to cope with blustery conditions.

"In very, very difficult conditions it was a thoroughly professional performance," said caretaker manager and chief executive Colin Gordon.

"With the conditions, Boreham changed their game plan and decided to press us back, so we had to get instructions onto the pitch.

"We had to play to Harry White and when we got a foothold in the game I thought we throughly deserved to win.

"We had to play a bit longer and it helps that we had a target man who works as hard as he did."

Kidderminster, who have 17 games left, take on Eastleigh at home on Tuesday night.
