EX-HARRIERS hitman Reece Styche admits friendship will go out the window  when he returns with Macclesfield Town for what is set to be an intriguing Vanarama National League clash.

The former Chasetown and Forest Green striker comes back to the club he spent a disappointing 18 months at tomorrow when Kidderminster tackle Macclesfield Town at home (3pm ko).

While Harriers are looking for a third straight win to keep their slim survival hopes alive, the Silkmen are looking to end a three-game losing run in the league to bolster their play-off hopes.

He said: "I've got a lot of friends at Kidderminster like Jared Hodgkiss and of course I don't want them or the club to go down.

"But I have to put that aside for one day and my only focus is helping Macclesfield earn three points.

"I've heard Harriers have improved but we're also one of the best football teams in the league so it should be a good game."

Signed in the summer of 2014 along side fellow high-profile hitman Craig Reid, Styche was tasked by manager Gary Whild with firing a play-off charge.

However, with the club wracked by financial difficulty during the 2014-15 season and struggling to pay wages, the club finished mid-table, winning two just two games in the second half of the season.

Styche enjoyed an unsettled time at the club and even had two loan spells at Tamworth.

But he came back in the summer determined to demonstrate his best form.

A goal on the opening day of the season against Grimsby and a fine effort to seal a point at Tranmere were glimpses of the striker's capability but Kidderminster struggled as they started the season with a 19 match winless run in all competitions.

When Whild departed, he was replaced by former Forest Green Rovers boss Dave Hockaday but his final appearance was in the 3-0 FA Cup humbling at Stourbridge.

Styche joined Macclesfield on-loan and made three appearances before suffering a back problem.

He left Harriers by mutual consent in January and returned to Moss Rose and he started in the 3-3 FA Trophy clash against Torquay.

He said: "The club did pay the players but it wasn't always on time and that did create uncertainty.

"To be fair when Rod Brown became chairman the players have always been paid on time.

"Harriers had a tough start to the season and when you're down near the bottom it's not easy to win matches."
