FORMER Harriers boss Steve Burr has been sacked by Vanarama National League rivals Chester.

The news has sparked hope from Kiddy fans who still adore the former Northwich Victoria manager after his successful time at Aggborough that he might return as manager.

Kidderminster chief executive Colin Gordon said this week that he had been talking to three targets for the vacant position at Harriers.

It is unlikely that Burr would be on that list but fans will hope his availability may change the situation.

Former Reds player Ian Foster, who is currently a coach at Portsmouth, has also been linked.

Burr had remarkably successful spell at Harriers, building a side that came within a point that won the league and automatic promotion in the 2012-13 season.

He nearly joined Forest Green Rovers in 2013 but returned to the club, before leaving under mysterious circumstances in January 2014.

He joined Chester but after a disappointing campaign where the Cheshire side have been pulled into a relegation battle.

However, there has always been a sense of unfinished business for the Harriers faithful.
