Harriers 1, West Bromwich Albion 2

WEST Brom goal-ace Saido Berahino bagged a brace to sink Harriers but there were encouraging signs for boss John Eustace.

The new Kiddy boss took charge of his first game at Aggborough against a very experienced and strong Baggies team.

But despite the five levels of football separating the two clubs, the home side can be pleased with the work out and some slick passing.

Harriers fielded a very strong line-up, although an unnamed trialist played in the number seven shirt and showed several nice touches.

Tony Pulis also showed the hosts a lot of respect by playing a very strong team, boasting the likes of Ben Foster.

Kidderminster began brightly but Albion's front two of Salomon Rondon and Berahino were posing a threat.

Hot prospect Berahino saw a 14th minute effort saved by Sam Hornby, who was making his Aggborough debut for Kiddy.

But Berahino opened the scoring in the 17th minute when he raced onto Rondon's threaded pass and coolly beat Hornby.

The visitors continued to look the more dangerous side and Albion's only summer addition so far Matt Phillips curled a long range effort from the left wide.

Harriers, who had kept their shape and discipline but lacked an attacking edge, saw James McQuilkin and Arthur Gnahoua try efforts that went off target.

Kidderminster increased the tempo at the start of the second half and Elton Ngwatala headed wide after some neat build-up.

Berahino then dragged a shot wide in 50 minutes.

McQuilkin had the home team's best chance in the 56th minute when he drove a Lowe effort wide from 20-yards.

But Albion made it 2-0 in the 58th minute when Ashley Carter, who had played well, set up Berahino and the hitman deftly chipped the trialist in goal.

Harriers then made a host of changes, disrupting the flow of the game.

But they did well to battle back and substitute Sam Austin was unlucky not to score in the 80th minute when he hit the bar with a fine shot.

Kidderminster pulled a goal back in the 83rd minute when a rash challenge by Jon Leko brought down an unnamed trialist, who also converted the spot-kick.
