HARRIERS made it through to the Fourth Qualifying Round of the FA Cup after winning 3-2 at Lancaster.

In injury disruption that reared its head at arguably the worst possible time, Harriers were forced to do without marksman and joint-leading scoring Mani Dieseruvwe, after the striker picked up a knock in training.

He was at least able to take his place among the substitutes - his place in the eleven taken by Andre Brown - but there was no place at all in the squad for perennial impact player Liam Truslove who missed out altogether after sustaining a knock in a midweek friendly win at neighbours Stourport.

Harriers had been very creative from set play routines in recent week and a fifth-minute corner, well worked, almost brought some more joy only for Francis-Angol's cross to fire over the bar from around 16 yards.

The very next routine of its kind did break the deadlock, though; a driven shot from the edge of the area cannoning off Brown who in turn turned swiftly on it and fired it beyond Hale and into the net to give Harriers the lead.

It was a short-lived advantage, though - just four minutes in fact as with 24 on the clock the hosts levelled after robbing their visitors of the ball, Connerton and Mayers combining for the former to eventually poke home from close range.

Harriers responded well and should have re-taken the lead past the half-hour mark, only for Hale to make an invaluable double save to keep out James McQuilkin before Arthur Gnahoua's shot was turned wide.

As it was, Lancaster took a lead into the interval in superb style as a great strike from Akrigg flew past Hornby and hit the back off the net via the upright.

Tasked yet again with responding, Harriers duly did so with two quickfire goals at the start of the second half, firs as Brown pocketed his second with a close-range finish, and then Waite getting in on the act with an angled, powered finish to beat Hale with less than an hour played.

From there, the home side really seemed to tire and the action started to be played almost exclusively in their half.

Substitute Sam Austin went within a lick of paint to making it four goals for his team but his attempted finish clipped off the post with Hale beaten again, McQuilkin also denied by the woodwork in injury time.
