JOHN Eustace has hailed the way his young Kidderminster side quickly got back to winning ways against Harrogate.

Harriers suffered their first defeat in eight games against FC United of Manchester last Saturday to leave the boss demanding a reaction.

That was exactly what he got as his side successfully negotiated a tricky away clash on Tuesday night.

Goals from Liam Truslove and Andre Brown handed the Reds a 2-0 win.

Eustace said: “I’m delighted with the result and pleased with how the lads played.

“Harrogate is one of the toughest places to go in the league.

“I was after a reaction and I got that, which was great to see from a young side.

“Against FC United we were always in the game and had lots of chances but just didn’t take them. They took their chances and it was a harsh lesson for us.

“I’ve said all along that there will be a few ups and downs this season but it is all about how we react to the disappointments that will be important.”

Harriers will now go to Stockport County this Saturday looking to put together another winning run.

“Much like Harrogate, Stockport will be a very tough place to go,” added Eustace.

“They are an experienced team with a good manager and we’ll have to prepare correctly again.”

Kidderminster will again be without the creativity of attacker Elton Ngwatala who is still suffering from a shoulder injury.

However, the manager is pleased with the impact Liam Truslove has made since filling the gap left by the Frenchman. He is now on six goals for the season but his strike against Harrogate was his first when starting.

Eustace said: “Liam has done really well and was only making his second start. His fitness needs to improve but he is getting there now after having to be very patient earlier in the season.

“I’ve said all along that this is a squad game and everyone is going to be vital as the season goes on.

“Liam has stepped up well when we’ve needed him and others will have to do the same.”
