HARRIERS boss John Eustace was disappointed his side missed the chance to keep the pressure on leaders AFC Fylde when falling to defeat at relegation-threatened Stalybridge Celtic.

Reds lost 1-0 on Tuesday night as they failed to get anything from their game in hand and now remain six points behind the table-toppers with four games left.

Stalybridge hit the winner through Danny Pilkington's free-kick and Kidderminster couldn't respond despite a late rally.

Eustace said: "I was really disappointed with the result but it was a tough game for the boys.

"It was a missed chance to apply some pressure to Fylde heading into the final weeks of the season.

"The work-rate and effort was all there from the lads though so I can't fault that in any way."

The manager now wants his side to continue their fine recovery record this season to make sure they at least bag a National League North play-off spot. Harriers have only suffered back-to-back league defeats on one occasion all campaign.

They will now welcome Boston United to Aggborough on Friday (3pm kick-off) before going to Altrincham on Easter Monday.

He said: "It's important we hit back quickly now. All we can do is move on and go again.

"We won't dwell on the defeat because we have a big game on Friday."

Harriers didn't have Liam Truslove, Arthur Gnahoua and Elton Ngwatala to call on for the Celtic defeat due to injury.

It's not yet know if they'll be able to return this Saturday and will have injuries assessed before the weekend.

  • Kidderminster next hit the road when they travel to Altrincham on Easter Monday.

Tickets in the standing section cost £14 for adults and £9 for concessions or £15 adults, £10 concessions, £14 for disability and carer, £5 12-16 years and £2 under-12s in the seating area.

Travel tickets can be bought for £16 with coaches departing Aggborough at 11.30am.
