How they rated:

Harriers 2, Alfreton 1

Hall: The Harriers keeper made some important saves throughout, most notably using his leg to turn Ricardo German's late effort past the post. Positioning and distribution also a positive. 8.

Williams: Took time to warm to his role as part of a back three but grew into the game and won some big headers late on as Alfreton looked for a leveller. 7.

Taylor: Did reasonably well as the left wing-back in the first half but was forced off at the break with injury and replaced by forward Andre Brown as Harriers changed their shape. 6.

Croasdale: Another solid showing from the skipper. Protected his back line and always an option to link defence and midfield. 6.5.

Daly: Another good showing from the big defender. Looked the most comfortable in his role at the heart of a back three in the first half and always a commanding presence in the air. Won an important header at the near post to set up Ngwatala's winner. 7.5.

Keane: Part of a back three in the first half and switched to left back in the second. Got caught under the ball on a couple of occasions but adapted well and helped his side keep a second half clean sheet that was vital to them winning the game. 6.5

Austin: Exciting showing early on in the right wing-back role. Full of energy to get up and down the pitch and was his side's main creator in the first half. Put some really good crosses in to forward Joe Ironside that nearly brought an early breakthrough. 8.

McQuilkin: The midfielder became more of an influence as the game wore on. Hardly wastes a pass and was once again a vital figure in Kidderminster's engine room. His set-piece deliveries also played a big part in Harriers' recovery. 7.5.

Ironside: Showing signs that more goals could be on the way. Much better service, especially from Austin, brought him into this game. Passed up a few chances with his head in the first half but got his reward when firing Harriers level on the hour mark. Will be looking to build on that. 7.5.

Ngwatala: A mixed showing from the talented attacker who is still working towards full fitness. Didn't have the impact he'd have wanted in the first half but was in the right place to bag a welcome winner in the second half. Got on the ball more as the game opened up before being replaced by Mani Sonupe for the final 15 minutes. 7.

Bradley: Pushed up front alongside Ironside in the first half before filling a deeper role as the hosts changed their system in the second period. He's another working his way to full fitness but showing signs that he's improving with each outing. Did well to link play at times and made good bursts forward. 7.

Subs:

Brown: Half time replacement for Taylor and partnered Ironside for the second half. Always a willing runner and helped stretch the Alfreton backline without finding a way through. 6.5.

Sonupe: Replaced Ngwatala in the last 15 minutes and looked to get on the ball in the final third. One good run that saw him win a free kick on the edge of the box and worked the keeper with a curling effort. 7.

Weeks: Late change for McQuilkin as Harriers saw out injury time to take the win. Did what was required. N/A.

Unused subs: Digie, Webb.
