HEAD coach Matt Gardiner says Harriers still have work to do after their battling comeback victory over Alfreton Town.

Second half strikes from Joe Ironside and Elton Ngwatala cancelled out Tom Allen's opener to hand the Reds all three points at Aggborough.

Gardiner was pleased with the win but admits patience is needed until Harriers can reach their potential.

He said: "We're very much a work in progress, we're looking to try different things to get players on the ball in certain areas and we've got a lot to do, there's no hiding away from that.

"We're making little steps every week but as a club as a whole we've got to all be going in the same direction.

"So I know, from a supporters' point of view, from what they were watching last year to what they are watching now (is different). We need patience from the players, supporters, everybody.

"We're one club and we want to make sure we get back to those levels of performance at home that makes Aggborough a fortress.

"I thought from a character perspective the boys have come from 1-0 down and won the game, which is great. But during those periods when we're trying to get back in and the lads are trying different things, all of us have got to stay supportive of them and we'll get over the line together, which is the great thing about Kidderminster.

"When we got the goal you can hear the fans getting behind the team and it's fantastic.

"We're trying our best to make sure we get up those consistency levels but we have to make sure we're improving week by week."
