HARRIERS boss John Eustace felt his side should have been more ruthless following their draw with Boston United at Aggborough.

Kidderminster took the lead through Mani Sonupe in the first half but had to settle for a point after Boston battled back in the second period.

It was Harriers' first draw of the new campaign as they still look to recapture last season's sparkle.

Eustace said: "I thought be played very well first half and the game should have been out of sight. In the second half they scored a goal through a deflection and it kind of changed the course of the game a little bit. It became very scrappy and we stopped playing and that was the disappointing thing.

"We have to be clinical. We created lots of chances in that first half and the game should have been out of sight.

"They scored a deflected goal in the second half and because we're going through a sticky period at the moment and it knocked the wind out of our sails.

"The one thing I am very pleased with was the way we stuck at it and really got together and managed to get a point in the end. That shows good character."

Boston were awarded a penalty in the first half but keeper Brandon Hall saved well to maintain his side's advantage.

The Reds boss added: "It was a good tackle from Macca (McQuilkin) and it was outside the box as well so the referee got that one wrong but thankfully Brandon saved it. He's been magnificent since he's come in."

The clash also saw Eustace hand a debut to loanee Fraser Horsfall and cameo appearances from the bench from Andre Wright and Will Longbottom.

"I thought Fraser tired a little in the second half because he hasn't played that much but I was very pleased with his performance. The other two lads came on and looked lively," added the manager.

"Well dust ourselves down now and try and go hard again on Tuesday."
