Harriers started to settle after a host of substitutions.
Luke Medley had a great chance to increase the lead when he was played in by Steve Guinan but the low on confidence forward shot over the bar, with just keeper Connor to beat.
The fleet-footed Rob Thompson-Brown also fired over after a junking run into the box.
Rugby made another change, with Jamel Wilson on for JJ Cole.
