Peterborough  2, Harriers 3

A STUNNING strike from Joe Lolley inspired Harriers to a stirring FA Cup upset in Tuesday night's Third Round replay.

Brilliant Kidderminster stunned the League One side at London Road to book a fourth round clash at Premier League Sunderland.

They had been trailing to Danny Rowe's first half strike but hit back through Michael Gash and Jack Byrne.

Britt Assombslonga levelled from the spot but Joe Lolley smashed a superb long range winner moments later.

Manager Andy Thorn, who won the competition in 1988 with Wimbledon, picked the same side which beat Salisbury City 3-0 in the Skrill Premier on Saturday.

The Carpetmen looked solid and came through the opening ten minutes before taking the game to the nervous home side.

Danny Lewis alertly rushed out to take the ball to as Posh dangerman Assombalonga raced goal-wards.

Lee Fowler burst through a gap in defence but sliced his shot wide in the 16th minute.

Lolley, who looks set to sign for Huddersfield Town tomorrow, then saw a scuffed shot saved by United keeper Bobby Olejnik.

But Peterborough took the lead in a disappointing fashion. Tommy Rowe  beat Lee Vaughan in the air to head Danny Kearn's cross into the back of the net at the far post.

But Harriers probed for a leveller and left-back Danny Jackman made a good run and produced a ball but Jack Byrne could not get to it.

Amari Morgan-Smith wasted a great chance to level in the 37th.  Michael Gash did well to slide in his fellow striker, who hammered a lot shot straight at keeper Bobby Olejnik.

At the other end, Shaun Jeffers volleyed a difficult effort wide, while Morgan- Smith was booked for a foul on Nat Knight-Percival.

But two goals in four minutes saw Kidderminster take the lead.

First, Gash got on the end of Jackman's fine cross to head home powerfully at the far post in the 48th minute.

Lolley then made a surging run down the left before finding Byrne, who fired in a shot from the edge of the area which Olejnik could only help into the back of the net.

Kyle Storer was then booked for a foul on Assombalonga.

But the away side stood strong as shell-shocked United looked for a leveller.

Jackman was also adept at his defensive duties and blocked an effort for substitute Danny Swanson in the 65th minute.

Swanson thought he'd made it 2-2 in the 70th minute with a powerful low effort but Lewis made a fine save to deny him.

But it was level again in the 73rd minute when Assombalonga scored from the spot after being fouled in box by Vaughan.

Wonder kid Lolley replied instantly for Kidderminster, beating Olejnik with a stunning 25-hard shot.
