TRIALLING midfielder Declan Weeks is understood to be closing in on a move to Kidderminster Harriers.

The 21-year-old, released by Wolves 12 months ago, played 26 times in the National League for Southport last season and was credited with performing well in spite of the Sandgrounders being relegated.

Weeks has been at Aggborough during pre-season, impressing in a central role against Stourport Swifts and the 3-2 Worcestershire Senior Cup semi-final victory at Redditch United.

The future of another consistent presence during pre-season, ex-Carlisle United attacker Jean-Michel 'Junior' Joachim, is less certain.

French-born Joachim, 25, made two substitute appearances for Nancy in French Ligue One back in 2013. He was on trial at League Two Carlisle United last summer before a Crowdfunding initiative by fans saw him snapped up by the Cumbrians in March on a deal until the end of last season.

He came off the bench at Mansfield and against Crewe shortly after signing but did not feature for the first team again. Prior to that, he had played for FC Wiltz 71 in Luxembourg.

Joachim played at Stourport and netted the third of Kidderminster's goals at Redditch, riding two challenges before walking the ball in a minute before half-time. He figured in Tuesday's 2-1 final defeat at Evesham United.

It is understood Harriers will not be pursuing deals for the other two goalscorers from the Redditch match, striker Christian Campanella and wide man Andre Landell, a former Wolves youngster who has played in the United States and lists Rushall Olympic and Hednesford Town as former clubs.
